The family operating system

Should you just ask your own AI agent to do this?

You can point a capable agent at your inbox and ask it to figure out the school week. Plenty of people do. This page is the honest version of what happens next — and what a shared, structured family operating system adds when you keep your agent in the loop.

What ParentSync.io actually does

Three stages, each doing work your agent would otherwise repeat on every question.

Stage 1

Ingest — collect everything in one place

Forward school and activity email to your private ParentSync inbox, connect a Google Calendar per school, team or club, and pull in calendar feeds from activity sites. ParentSync.io then receives the same messages you do — nothing is stranded in a forgotten inbox.

Stage 2

Process — turn noise into structured family knowledge

Every message is read once, properly: links followed, attachments extracted, calendar events parsed. The result is structured records rather than a pile of email — and each record knows which child, school or activity it belongs to, which source it came from, and whether it duplicates something already seen. When two sources conflict, both are kept and the newest one is surfaced.

Stage 3

Use — connect any AI agent through MCP

All of it is exposed through an MCP layer, the standard way agents talk to tools. Point Claude, Cursor or any MCP-capable agent at your account and it can ask for open to-dos, upcoming events, assignments due soon or the people directory — and get clean structured answers back, without you pasting emails into a chat.

The structured records it keeps

This is the schema your agent gets to query instead of raw email threads.

Events

Field trips, concerts, conferences, practices — deduped across sources.

To-dos

Permission slips, forms, supplies, appointments, with owners and due dates.

Schoolwork

Homework and projects with subject, due date and status.

Money

Fees, dues and fundraising with amounts, currency and deadlines.

Learning updates

What each child studied this week, plus conversation starters.

People

Teachers, coaches and staff, kept current from incoming mail.

Build it yourself vs. add ParentSync.io

Your agent stays in the picture either way — the question is how much of this groundwork it has to redo.

Who reads the email? The agent re-reads your inbox on every question.Read once at ingestion; the agent queries the result.
Links and attachmentsUsually stops at the email body.Links followed and documents extracted, then cached across families.
Duplicates and conflictsThree reminders can become three events, or the wrong time.Duplicates merged with sources tracked; newer information wins.

Cost and speedLong context, repeated work, unpredictable answers.Small structured reads, fast and repeatable.

Why this is different from just asking AI to read your email

Without the structure underneath, the agent starts from scratch every time: re-reading messages, re-following links, re-guessing which child a message is about, re-resolving the same conflicts. That is slow, expensive and unreliable — and it means the agent can never build a lasting picture of your family: who your children are, what they are enrolled in, which people matter, and what a normal week looks like.

ParentSync.io keeps that picture. It is a family operating system, and any AI agent can query it. You still choose your assistant; you just stop making it do the same homework twice.

What it means day to day

One question instead of five places to check. A deadline you can see instead of one buried in a link. Both parents reading the same consolidated plan instead of two different emails. And because the data is structured, the picture sharpens as you connect more email and calendars.
